Cambridge International Education

Challenging and inspiring students worldwide

At VIBGYOR GROUP OF SCHOOLS we offer the Cambridge International curriculum with a broad range of internationally recognised qualifications. University of Cambridge International Education is the world's most popular international qualification taken in over 160 countries. The core five elements lie at the heart of a Cambridge education are: international curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, international recognition and global community. The integrated international programmes ensure a smooth transition through the years of schooling and provide the opportunity for learners to succeed in a stimulating, externally validated and highly respected world-class educational programme.

Knowledge, understanding and higher order thinking skills.

The curriculum is challenging and inspiring, culturally sensitive yet international in approach. A Cambridge education prepares students for life, helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. We value deep subject knowledge as well as the conceptual understanding that helps students make links between different aspects of a subject. We also encourage students to develop higher order thinking skills - problem solving, critical thinking, independent research, collaboration and presenting arguments. These are transferable skills that will last a lifetime, preparing students for their future lives. They also make learning enjoyable and rewarding.

Assessments

At VIBGYOR both formative and summative assessments play a key role in the learning progression. We offer the Progression Tests and Checkpoint tests from Primary to Lower Secondary leading to preparation for the IGCSE and A Level examination. They provide valid assessment of knowledge, skills and understanding. And offer structured feedback to learners and provide evidence of learning to parents and school leaders. The qualifications obtained by our senior students open the doors to universities both in India and abroad. Cambridge qualifications are universally recognised and welcomed.

International Award for Young People (IAYP)

We are working with the International Award for Young People (IAYP) which delivers the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award in India to offer our schools new ways to broaden their curriculum. Our organisations believe that learning should not be confined to the classroom but should also take place in the school environment and wider community.

The Award Programme was introduced in India in 1962 to encourage young people in the country to achieve their full growth potential within the framework of Indian society, to improve their moral, social and intellectual well-being, and to ‘Equip them for Life’. Currently, students from over 240 institutions across India participate in the Award Programme. So far over 100,000 young people have successfully gained their Awards.

Through these awards, we would like to promote the importance of life skills, attitudes, and values in our students as well as to develop their innate abilities and talents. The non-competitive nature of these awards encourages a child to compete with his or herself to bring out the best.

The IAYP Award is a life-changing experience that will help to transform students to:

  • Gain recognition for extra/co-curricular activities
  • Improve their personal development by learning new skills such as time management, teamwork and problem-solving
  • Build their confidence by trying something new
  • Make a positive impact on their community through volunteering
  • Undertake activities that support applications for college, university or employment

The Award is comprised of three levels and four sections:

  • Bronze - for those over 14 years old
  • Silver - for those over 15 years old
  • Gold - for those over 16 years old.

Participants complete all four sections at each level to achieve their Award. At the Gold level, participants also complete a residential project.
