Field Trip to the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya

Formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum of Western India, it is one of the premier art and history museums in India. Presently, students are learning about the Pre-historic period of Indus Valley Civilization in Social Studies and hence, the field trip provided an opportune moment for the students to acquire more information about the same through their visit to the museum. Yet another purpose of this field trip was to help students organise and document their thoughts and information by writing down what they have seen and learnt. At the museum, the students visited the following sections: Sculpture, Pre-historic section, the Maurya as well as the Gupta periods are beautifully displayed in the museum, museum artefacts hailing from India, Nepal and other far eastern countries are preserved in this museum, European oil paintings, Tools and weapons used by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Buddha and the Mughal period also the Indian Miniature Paintings and the Natural History section of the museum includes a collection of reptiles, mammals, amphibians, birds and fishes. The students were very excited to visit the place as they were exposed to the places and things they learnt in class. This not only assisted them in enhancing the learning process but also helped develop their interest in history.

Field Trip to a Post Office

GRADE : Grade 1

School educational trips enhance students learning experiences by providing opportunities to participate in activities outside their normal routine. To give our students a hands-on experience, they were taken on a visit to a nearby Post office to extend their knowledge. The children were excited to see how letters were stamped, sorted and put into different pigeon holes as per the area they had to be delivered. They were also briefed about the various services provided by the post office. It was a wonderful learning experience for the children to see how a Post Office functions as this mean of communication is becoming ancient. The children also saw a letter box outside. They were happy to meet the postman and see his shelf with loads of letters. At the time of departure; the teachers thanked the staff of the Post office for their valuable time, assistance and cooperation. On the way back, school students were provided biscuits and Frooti packs. Children thoroughly enjoyed the field trip and went home with a lot of information.

Republic Day Celebration

GRADE : All Levels

Republic Day was celebrated by the staff and students of VIBGYOR HIGH with patriotic fervor. The celebrations began with a welcome speech by the President of the student council. This was followed by the March Past headed by the student council. Ms.Tanya Gulrajani the Principal of our institution along with the chief guest, Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal hoisted the national flag. After the flag hoisting, national anthem was sung by the students and was followed by the Pledge. Our esteemed Principal spoke to the gathering about sanctity of the occasion and the role played by the constitution makers, followed by a gripping speech and presentation by the honourable chief guest. A variety of cultural programme mesmerised the audience which included singing of folk as well as patriotic song, dance and a skit. Students of grade 8 sang a song which poured the patriotic spirit in the people present there. A-Level student Ishika Jaitley was felicitated by the Principal, for her outstanding performance and for earning the title of a ‘World topper’ in Mathematics. Ishika’s brilliant scores in subjects like Biology, Physics and Chemistry won her accolades, while her motivational speech won hearts. The students of Grade 5 enthralled the audience with their dance performance. This was followed by a skit which was enacted in the form of a ‘Street Play ‘by the students of Grade 7. The message of the skit was based on ‘Save girl-child’. The Art work by the Primary Section was also displayed. Last but not the least the Vote of Thanks was given by the Vice President of the student council.

70th Republic day

GRADE : All Grades

The Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotic fervor. The Principal Mr. Naga Bhooshana unfurled the national flag. This was followed by the national Anthem sung by a team of students. The Principal addressed the gathering. He emphasised on the importance of the Republic Day. He appreciated the efforts of the students who had organised the Science Fest and he also encouraged students participation in different activities. The student council along with other students presented a spectacular march past. The soulful presentation of group songs by school students, the thought provoking dance performance about women empowerment and the patriotic dance intensified the grandeur and solemnity of the occasion. The ceremony was to be followed by a Science Fest. A Vote of Thanks was tabled by School Vice Captain who made announcement about the Science Fest and invited the Principal and other dignitaries to unveil the Science Fest. The programme ended with the distribution of sweets.

Republic Day Celebration

GRADE : All Levels

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur in the school. The day began with the hoisting of the Indian flag by the Principal, which was followed by our National Anthem Jana Gana Mana. The students of Grade 1 to 5 carried over the march past. The Principal addressed the gathering and urged them to do their best and feel proud to be Indians. There was a wonderful demonstration of gymnastics pyramid by the students of Grades 1 and 2 followed by the students of Grades 3, 4 and 5. The students also presented a dance performance on the songs Rang de Basanti and Vande Mataram which reverberated the entire school courtyard. A thought provoking skit was present by the students of Grades 3, 4 and 5 that conveyed the message of Stop Bullying. The choir group presented the melodious song We shall Overcome. The Principal felicitated the winning houses with the rolling trophies. At the end of the programme, the parents were requested to have a look at the artistic work done by our students and take part in seed plantation programme.

Republic Day Celebration

GRADE : 5-10

The fervor of freedom, the Republic Day was celebrated with pride and patriotism at VIBGYOR High – Kadugodi. The festivities commenced with flag hoisting ceremony by our honourable Principal, Ms.Kavitha Neelayath followed by national anthem and national pledge. The Student Council marched past, which infused every soul present there, with a strong feeling of patriotism. It was followed by the inspiring speech on the significance of the occasion by the Principal, which exhorted us to maintain the dignity of being a citizen of India.

Awani Vaidya, the School Vice President delivered a report on different activities conducted this academic year. It was then followed by colourful, cultural extravaganzas which comprised of folk dance, dance drama, street play and patriotic songs showcased beautifully by the students. The winners of GO-Blue photography competition were felicitated on this day. The event came to a close with the vote of thanks by the Cultural Secretary.

Republic Day Celebration

Republic Day was celebrated in a grand way. The students attended the celebration with the spirit of patriotism. It started with the unfurling of the flag followed by the national anthem and reciting of pledge by the School President. The inspiring words of the Principal were worth to be pondered upon. The day included the performance of various Inter-House Competition winners from Grades 6 to 10 with folk song and street play and dance drama on Social issues. The performances were mind blowing and really showcased the vigour and enthusiasm in the participants to bring about a change in the minds of every citizen. They showcased their talents by conveying a strong message to the society. The parents were awed to see their wards fully geared with various themes through their performances. The declaration of Best Athlete Boy and Girl and House Championship and the felicitation of VIVA LA VIDA Teachers Competition winners were like a cherry on the cake. The day came to an end with smiling faces and the feel of true patriotic citizens of Republic India.

Field Trip to Jagtap Nursery

GRADE : 6

The students went on a field trip to Jagtap Nursery. As with all field trips, the thought of visiting the nursery evoked lot of enthusiasm and interest, moreover upon reaching the nursery the children were not disappointed. As soon as we stepped in, the site of wide variety of indoor plants spread fascination and awe on their faces. The staff was very knowledgeable and very patiently explained the different types of plants and their special features. The children got to know species of indoor plants which were used as humidifiers, air purifiers and mosquito repellents. There was a section that showcased different types of soil and rocks. Of interest were porous pebbles that had ability to retain water for prolonged period and were helpful to prevent drying of indoor plants due to water scarcity when people go out for long durations. They also got first-hand information and demonstration on various grafting and hybridization techniques. It was a very fruitful tour which combined fun and education.

Speed Reading and Memory Augmentation Workshop

GRADE : 8-9

VIBGYOR High - Vadodara organised a one-of-a-kind workshop on Speed Reading and Memory Augmentation. The workshop was mentored by Mr. S Lakshmi Narayan (C.A. and M.B.A- IBS Management Institute), who is an eminent motivator and has rendered his guidance to students of varied age groups. The workshop was coordinated by in-house faculties and was attended by group of 64 students ranging from Grades 8 to 9. The workshop fostered the importance of fast reading, better comprehension of information and retention through assimilation of several phrases or sentences at once. Several techniques like chunking and minimising sub-vocalisation were explained for enhancing ones ability to read quickly. Later on, the workshop was concluded by an interactive session with a group of parents giving them an in-depth experience of the workshop and the importance of reading along with Mind Mapping in everyday life. Altogether this workshop has successfully bridged the gap of reading with effective reading to better learners.

VSSRC Closing Ceremony

GRADE : Members

The VSSRC marked the closure of another interesting year of activity with a solemn closing ceremony. The entire event was presided over by the principal (Mr. Sourabh Kumar Guha), the Head of VSSRC (Ms. Kaveri Uniyal), the coordinators, the teachers and the students. The Chief Guests for the event were Mr Gajanand Kadam the founder along with managing members and team of students from Sai Residential School for Mentally Challenged Children. The culmination began with a welcome speech by our students followed by badge and certificate distribution. The students of the Sai Residential School performed a beautiful folk dance. This was followed by the introduction and felicitation of guest speeches and a melodious song by the student members of the club. During the event, the VSSRC achieved its finest laurel, as it presented a cheque worth Rs. 21,000 to the charitable organisation as an act of benevolence. This culmination marked a befitting closure of yet another fruitful year of the charitable endeavours of VSSRC.
