The Curriculum

We offer a choice between the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education), CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Examination) curricula. Our learner-centric pedagogy focuses on each student, based on their individual needs in terms of their academic, physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual growth. To support our philosophy of the Individual Learning Programme, a Teacher/Student ratio of 1:12 is maintained to ensure that every child receives adequate individual attention, which is the key to a successful Multiple Intelligences curriculum.

Our innovative teaching methods place emphasis on both curricular academia and essential life lessons and skills.

Our unique curriculum is geared to:

• Determine progress on significant developmental achievements

• Diagnose learning problems

• Facilitate instruction and ease curriculum decisions

• Assist students with their own progress

• Provide guidance for parents.

Culminating Activity

Culminating Activities form an integral part of the VIBGYOR learning process. These activities are a part of the regular curriculum plan. They present a richly organized conceptual network of skills and are an exhibition of students’ understanding of the topic. ‘Understanding’ here is defined as the ability to use knowledge in novel situations. Knowledge then becomes a reflective tool for making judgments rather than assimilating isolated facts about various topics.

In the concluding part of teaching units, a Culminating Activity is held for both the Primary and Secondary sections. They are organized for children to demonstrate their skills and project work. Teaching aids and worksheets related to the unit are displayed in a classroom. An array of students’ art work, class activities and project work on all subjects pertaining to the unit are exhibited during the Activity. The objective of this activity is to showcase students work and consolidate their learning. Parents are invited to view the work done by their children and are encouraged to be proactive in these events.

The Culminating Activity covers Languages, Science, and Social Science topics. Through such activities, students move from recognition to exploration of the various concepts and ideas taught in the class.
