The VIBGYOR Learning System

In the ensuing years of Primary School (Grades 1 to 4), VIBGYOR High stresses on 'whole-child' development. Our curriculum moulds itself accordingly, to focus on the knowledge that children need to interact efficiently in a complex and changing world.

As the child enters the “teen” years (Grades 5 to 10), the pace of academics is gradually accelerated. The student's intellectual, aesthetic, physical and cultural growth is strengthened. They are introduced to a foundation course designed to suit students from the Indian, as well as an International background.   Academic challenges become the focus as the students start preparing for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations.

Throughout these crucial, formative academic years, our consistent effort is to prepare students for the real world. Hence, a host of projects and field trips further augment classroom instruction, where great emphasis is laid on the development of positive attitudes and healthy habits. Students are encouraged to question, hypothesize, analyze and be creative.

Inclusive Education

We firmly support and implement Inclusive Education at all our schools. Inclusion quite simply means the act of including students of similar chronological ages in the same classes. Our Inclusive Education policies are in tune with both the ministry of Human Resource Development and UNESCO. The ultimate goal of inclusive quality education is to end all forms of discrimination and foster social cohesion.

We celebrate the differences among our students. Diversity for us is not a barrier but is a rich source of learning and experience. This helps us stay attuned to the evolving needs of our students. So we’re always adapting to their needs and not the other way around. We believe all children need an education that will help them develop relationships and prepare them for life in the mainstream. Only inclusion has the potential to reduce fear and build friendship, respect and understanding.

Under the Inclusive Education policy, VIBGYOR High conducts several workshops and seminars for students, teachers and parents.

Our Inclusive Programme is mentored and monitored by the Resource Team, a multidisciplinary team of professionals who plan and implement individualized education programmes for each student with special needs. They have the expertise in adaptive curriculum and co-operative learning. The Resource Team deals with behavioural and cognitive problems. They carefully monitor the students to asses their level of disability. After analysing the student’s needs, different diagnostic tools and behavioural modification techniques are used to develop the personal, educational and social skills of these students. This is done in close collaboration with the teachers, parents and school administrators.

The Resource Room consists of a Counselling Centre which provides vocational and professional guidance to all students. The team also implements counselling programmes to help promote the students' academic achievements.
