At VIBGYOR High we offer the Secondary level NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) curriculum to our students in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. With its international recognition and presence, NIOS at VIBGYOR High provides access to sustainable and learner-centric quality school education, skill upgradation and training through open and distance learning. We aim to provide the highest quality of education and impart integrative and innovative curriculum to our children.
The Secondary level NIOS education at VIBGYOR High is divided into 2 levels: Level 1 and Level 2. The subject combinations offered in these two levels are:
- English
- Economics
- Business Studies
- Computer
- Home Science
The curriculum at VIBGYOR High has been carefully designed in consonance with the objectives of the NIOS syllabus. The highlight of the curriculum is the flexibility to choose subjects and the continuous assessment through class tests and practical exposure. It promotes a holistic, integrated, thematic and student-centred approach to education.
At VIBGYOR High the self instructional and combined study materials of NIOS are enhanced to make it student friendly and appropriate for our learners’ use. The students are taught through text books and notes which are adequately supplemented with workbooks and worksheets.
As a school we follow a promotion policy to ensure quality control amongst our students. At Level 1 and 2 continuous and comprehensive class tests and cyclic tests are held for evaluation. Stress free tools of assessment are used at Level 1. At Level 2 the board system of evaluation is followed with 2 preliminary exams for the students.
Providing holistic education to our students has been the prime mission of our institution. The academic curriculum of our school is enhanced with regular filed trips which are an extension to the topics taught in class. To counterbalance the academic curriculum various SPA (Sports & the Performing Art) activities have been planned for our learners. We have a structured curriculum for SPA to facilitate a holistic growth in them. We offer Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Yoga, Skating, Cricket, Basket Ball, Swimming, Dance and Theatre as a part of the SPA curriculum. The Annual School Festival- VIVA provides a platform to our students to showcase their talents in these fields.
The systematic curriculum of NIOS at VIBGYOR facilitates development of social and technical skills in our young learners. The sound knowledge base gears them up to face the challenges of the dynamically changing world.
