ACTIVITIES from 22 June to 7 July 2010
Rendezvous With Nature (Grade 5 - 7th July)
The students of Grade 5 went on a field trip to the Lalbagh Garden on 7th July. It was a treat to be a part of their enthusiasm. Amidst nature, they were keen observers of the different varieties, structures and parts of the plants. They exhibited their skills of identifying the various species of plants. Their enjoyment knew no bounds when they identified the different parts of the plants and related them with their structures and functions.

Nature’s Way (Grade 8 , 9 - 6th July)
6th July was a day of, thinking green, being green and living green for the students of Grade 8 and 9. They were taken on a field trip to instill the importance of conservation of the ecosystem. The green building materials, sewage treatment plants, rainwater harvesting, and the natural landscaping of the TZ apartments were real eye openers. It made the students realize that it is possible to reduce our impact on earth, improve the quality of our lives and live in harmony with nature even in a metropolitan city like Bangalore, without disturbing the natural rhythm of our planet.

Recycling in the 21st century!! (Secondary Section - 26th June)
On 26th June, the students from the Secondary section participated in a craft competition – “Best out of Waste”. The objective was to inculcate the importance of recycling. With increasing emphasis on recycling for a more vibrant life on earth, the students made some unique and innovative articles, which varied from treasure boxes made from sea shells and ice cream sticks to user friendly paper bags. Dustbins of amazing shapes and sizes ranging from rockets to dustbins on wheels were also made. Learning by doing truly enhanced the concept of recycling!

Presentation and Personality Day (Grade 4 - 25th June)
25th June was “Presentation and Personality Day” for Grade 4. Students came dressed as an achiever they had researched on. Various achievements of the personalities and their contributions were highlighted. Achievers from various fields like politics, entertainment, sports, social reforms, etc. were portrayed by the students. Students, dressed like Abdul Kalam Azad, Mother Teresa, Sunita Williams, Sania Mirza, Indira Gandhi and Shahrukh Khan, looked near perfect in their costumes. Students had researched their topics well and the presentations were very informative.

FESTIVE SPIRIT! (Grade 1 - 22nd June)
Festivals in India are an integral part of people's lives. They portray India’s rich cultural heritage. In order to reinforce this sense of joy, the students of Grade 1 brought in the festive spirit on 22nd June, as a part of their Social Science curriculum. They were all dressed in traditional attire and the entire corridor bore a welcoming and cheerful look. The children were also introduced to national festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day.

ACTIVITIES from 12th to 16th July 2010
Fieldtrip to the Planetarium (Grade 3 - 16th July)
On the bright sunny morning of 16th July, the students of Grade 3 set out on a field trip to the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium. The programme presented a unique tour of the planets and other worlds that make up our Solar System. From the scorching atmosphere of Venus to the interiors of Neptune, that primarily composes of ice and rocks, this was an unforgettable journey through our cosmic backyard.
