(Grade 6 CIPP - 22nd July)
The students of Grade 5 went on a field trip to Empress Garden on 20th July. They were taught about the various types of leaves and plants and their parts. Their queries regarding the plant life were answered satisfactorily by the teachers. The students were very elated with the experience and expressed their desire to have more outdoor educational trips. They really enjoyed themselves as they felt one with the nature.

The students of Grade 9 and 10 visited an Old Age Home on 20th July as a part of their SUPW curriculum. They interacted with the inmates and got to know about them. The trip was an eye opener for them and the interaction was invigorating for both the students and the inmates of the Old Age Home.

Teacher’s Module on Task Management
(Secondary Section - 17th July)
Teacher’s module on Task Management was conducted for the Secondary Teachers on 17th July. After a small talk by the Principal, the coordinators took over. The module involved various team activities. A PowerPoint Presentation on effective strategies of planning tasks helped in ensuring the achievement of our goals. It was a very motivating workshop enjoyed thoroughly by the teachers.

Culminating Activity
(Grade: 3 - 16th July)
The students of Grade 3 presented their first Culminating Activity for the year 2010-11 on 16th July. The topic was ‘The Universe and the Solar System’. The children put up a colourful, musical and entertaining show which was also very informative. They depicted various facts related to the Sun, planets and different seasons.

Hindi-French Speech Competition
(Grade: 9 ICSE and IGCSE - 14th July)
On 14th July, the speech competition for Grade 9 was conducted in Hindi and French. The students had to speak on any topic with humour for 5 minutes. The speeches were quite funny and hilarious and had the listeners in splits .

Art Exhibition
(2 A CIE 12th July)
Grade 2 A (CIE) held an Exhibition on Beach Scenes and Advertisements on 12th July. The children explained different types of textures and mediums of art to the students of other grades who came to see the exhibition. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Visit to Artificial Limb Centre (Grade 10 IG -9th July)
The children of Grade 10 IG visited the Artificial Limb Centre in Pune on 9th July. They were familiarized with the functioning of the Center through presentations. Wing Commander Mr. Satish spared his time and inducted the children on preparation, usage and operation of artificial limbs. They were introduced to the patients of the Limb Centre. They satisfied their queries by putting forward questions that were answered well by the Wing Commander. It was an eventful and knowledgeable experience thoroughly enjoyed by the students.

Field trip to The Society for the Welfare of Differently Able Persons: (Grade 2)
The students of Grade 2 went on a field trip to the ‘Society for the Welfare of Differently Able Persons’ on 3rd July. As the students were taken around, the sight of differently able children touched a chord in their little hearts. They also learnt how these children, in spite of their difficulties, cope up and create a niche for themselves in the society. The visit helped them realize the value of having a healthy body and also develop a positive attitude towards life.

ACTIVITIES from June 28th' - July 1st' 2010
Explore your senses (Grade: 2A (CIPP))
On 28th June, Grade 2A (CIPP) organized a funfair to explore the five senses. The children identified basic body parts (eyes, ears, nose, mouth and skin) and their sensory functions with the help of five Sense Stations arranged in class. All CIPP students from Grades 1 to 4 were invited to the fair and were guided from station to station helping them to explore the things kept there. On the whole, it was a fun-filled event.

Dental Check up
(Grade: 3A (CIPP))
As a part of the lessons, ‘Types of Teeth’, ‘Healthy Teeth’ and ‘Clean Teeth’, Sense Organs, Grade 3A CIPP students visited a dentist on 30th June. The dentist, Dr. Chunawalla conducted a general check up for all the students. She then showed them the correct way to brush their teeth on a model. They also learnt about milk teeth and permanent teeth, types of teeth, plaque, tartar and decay. The students received a dental kit containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and a puzzle. The trip ended with a question answer session.

A Visit by Lake Forest Academy’s teachers.
(Grade: 8 - 10)
The students and teachers of Grades 8, 9 and 10 had an interesting interactive session with Ms. Erica and Ms. Ardelle from Lake Forest Academy, USA on 28th June. The students were curious to know about the facilities and the curriculum and were hoping that there could be an exchange program in the anvil.

Investiture Ceremony
(Grade: 8 - 10)
The investiture ceremony, held on 1st July, was a solemn occasion, when the student council was invested with their badges of office. Samira Sahib of grade 10 welcomed the audience and reminded them of the need for the council elect to play a positive role in promoting school spirit. The President and his council members were administered the oath of office by the Principal Mrs. Ahlowalia. She laid importance on the need of dedication, determination and discipline in her speech. The ceremony ended with the singing of the national anthem.

Parent Orientation for Post-School activities (Grades 5 -10 : 19th June, 2010)
An orientation programme was organized on 19th June for the parents of the older students (Grades 5 -10), regarding post-school activities. Information on various Post-School activities and the SPA was shared. The queries of the parents were satisfactorily answered by the respective organisers.

Albert Barrow Memorial Essay Competition (Primary Section : 18th June)
The Albert Barrow Memorial Essay Competition was conducted for the higher Secondary section on 18th June for students of Grades 8 to 10. The envelope containing the topics was opened in the presence of the students and they were given one hour to prepare and two hours to write. Students eagerly participated in the competition.

Elections ! Elections ! (18th June)
On 18th June, the school environment looked very official and formal, with the voting booths set up in the Computer laboratory. It was Voting Day. The booths were manned by teachers who were in charge of the electronic voting. Children from all the sections cast their votes in favour of the Council members, the Captains and the Vice-Captains of the four houses. The counting is in process and the results will be declared at the next Assembly.

Traditional Day (Primary Section : 17th June)
India is a land of festivals and we Indians celebrate every festival with vigour, pomp and vibrant colours. The students of Grade 1 are taught about festivals which form an integral part of their lives. What better way is there to get into the mood than by dressing up on 17th June in traditional clothes and celebrating India’s diverse culture !

Election Time (Secondary Section : 16th June)
Students from Grades 5-10 gathered in the Assembly Hall on 16th June, 2010, to listen to their friends, who were nominated to stand for Student Council Posts. Each candidate had laboured over their campaign speech, to try and win the most votes. There was a lot of enthusiasm and much cheering from the audience. We now await the Elections!!

Balloon Activity (Primary Section : 14th June)
The academic session began with a bang. The toddlers have now crossed the threshold and are on their quest for further knowledge. What better way is there than to discover them and ‘Let the World Know’! And this was best done on 14th June. This momentous happening was announced by releasing balloons! The children of Grade 1 released balloons with their individual qualities written on them.
